SalaryUmma's KBBQ in Lake Forest is hiring ONE Front of House staff employee for immediate start! The position would entail both Cashiering and Food Handling. We offer paid training at $17/hour, then move to $18/hour after training. Tips added.
Prior cashiering/customer service experience is required. Our team members must be self-motivated, hardworking, and focused individuals. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment that requires strong team members working together. We'd like for you to learn quickly, be honest and trustworthy, be able to multi-task, comes ready to work and comes to work on-time.
Tasks/Responsibilities
- Greets customers with a smile and a friendly hello
- Accurately takes their order through our POS system
- Responds to order tablets (we use Grubhub, doordash, Ubereats, Chownow, and our website for orders), confirms, prints order
- Has the ability to build rapport with guests and establishes a professional relationship with regular customers
- Accurately and quickly expedites orders, fulfills all orders
- Knowledge of all menu items and able to effectively communicate ingredients and allergies if needed
- Communicate respectfully to all employees and customers
- Ability to communicate special requests or customized orders to BOH and other team members
- Keeps front area clean, organized, and sanitized
- will require a Food Handling Certificate within your first week of employment
- Be able to lift at least 30# comfortably
- All employees wash dishes
About Umma's KBBQ
We are a "mom & pop" style, quick service, Hawaiian-Korean BBQ restaurant. Our customers love how friendly and energetic we are and how we pack their (generous) meals. Umma stands for "Mom" in , we have plenty of ummas working both FOH and BOH. We are family oriented. We have only the one location in Lake Forest currently. We've been featured in the OC Weekly. We are always trying new ways and adding things so we are interested in people who can go with the flow.

Our business hours are:
Monday-Friday: 10am-8pm
Saturday: 10am-8pm
Sunday: Closed
Holidays: *depends, sometimes we close, sometimes we open*
Catering: We also sometimes do catering (usually in the morning) and may ask if you have the time availability to help assist.
Our Ideal Candidate can work Monday-Friday 4pm-8/8:30 pm and Saturday 10am-8pm with 2 hours OT and a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
