Job Duties
This position is a member of the Application Development and Support unit. The primary objective of this unit within ITU is to deliver quality Application Development and Support and Web services through effective systems architecting and planning, project initiation, business analysis, requirements definition, systems design, systems development, systems implementation, on-going maintenance and enhancement, effective problem identification and resolution, production service and support, and systems administration support tasks to ensure computer applications will assist DOC in achieving its day-to-day mission.
This position performs front-End Web development primarily for public website, intranet, and application products. This position also assists in updating and managing website content.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of and competency using HTML, CSS (including familiarity with preprocessors), and JavaScript (including the JQuery and React libraries). Some knowledge and skill working with accessibility requirements (Section 508, WCAG). Basic competency using Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office. Understanding of mobile development, responsive and adaptive design, graceful degradation, progressive enhancement, and website optimization. Considerable experience in Front End Website development utilizing HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, and React. Experience authoring/developing templates and components/extensions for content management systems. Some knowledge and experience with User Centered Design and Design Thinking methodologies. Some knowledge of analytics and website metrics (Google Analytics, Awstats). Some knowledge of web servers (IIS, Apache, nginx). Experience with .NET and Razor markup.
