Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answers telephone, schedules appointments, greets and directs patients and visitors.
Runs patient clinics in San Leandro, Hayward, and San Ramon.
Compiles and records medical records, reports, and correspondence in EMR.
Collects insurance and billing information.
Confirms patients’ insurance eligibility with insurance companies and obtain authorization.
Completes patient registrations.
Computer data entry.
Cleans exam rooms and instruments.
File reports within EMR. Scanning/Faxing included.
Prescription refills.
Maintain recall and Front Desk follow up systems.
Receipts payments/cash handling.
Schedules diagnostic appointments.
Ensure HIPPA policies and procedures are being followed with your job responsibilities.

High school degree or equivalent. Successful completion of medical course in front office/medical receptionist work. Experience in dealing with the public in a professional courteous manner.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to Communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid California drivers license with excellent driving record. Proof of vehicle insurance.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching, eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment. Requires ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with staff and patient. Requires ability to see well enough to use equipment efficiently. Must be able to drive an automobile.
Requires ability to lift up to 20 pounds, to carry supplies, to pull or push patients on gurneys or wheelchairs.

Fast paced medical office settings with frequently changing schedules. Occasional overtime required during medical office clinics when patients are present.
