Status: G (Part-Time, maximum 900 hours per year)
Hours: Spring, summer, fall: 16-32 hours/week. Winter: 0 – 8 hours/week
Salary: $14 – 16/hour
Description:
Serves as the initial point of visitor contact for walk-in and phone inquiries at Lake Fairfax Park’s Office. This position requires a self-motivated, independent worker with good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment, and the ability to prioritize workload. Training provided.
- Welcomes visitors to the park, distributes information, and answers phones.
- Operate point of sale machine to sell firewood, camping supplies, and other items and services.
- Assists campers in scheduling campgrounds using our computerized system.
- Checks in campers and issues parking passes, campground rules, maps, and other information.
- Assist in the maintenance of Park Office.
- Accumulate advanced knowledge of the park, facilities, and relevant subject matter to provide accurate information to the public and to staff.
- Ensure proper cash handing/cash security and accountability for all equipment and supplies used in the operations.
- Perform daily inspections of facilities, equipment, supplies and work methods.
- Other tasks or duties to support overall park operations may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift, up to 30 pounds unassisted. Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications: First Aid and CPR certification. Multilingual (in English and other languages). Accuracy in point-of-sale cash-handling
operations in a fast-paced environment. Values clean and organized public areas and work spaces. Skilled in performing routine custodial work that meets high standards. Experience supervising and training staff or volunteers.
Special Requirements: Will be required to pass a background check and driver’s license check. First Aid and CPR required within 90 days of employment.
