Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco, obesity, substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, eating healthy foods, early childhood development, and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. The Job
We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Cloud Systems Administrator with experience designing, implementing, and maintaining the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure that supports multiple websites and applications within our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation, security, and scalability of our cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in AWS services, infrastructure as code (IaC), and a deep understanding of best practices for cloud architecture.
Day-To-Day Activities:

The Job
We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Cloud Systems Administrator with experience designing, implementing, and maintaining the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure that supports multiple websites and applications within our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation, security, and scalability of our cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in AWS services, infrastructure as code (IaC), and a deep understanding of best practices for cloud architecture.
Day-To-Day Activities:
Audit Existing Server Infrastructure
- Review and assess the existing cloud infrastructure across AWS to ensure efficiency, security, and scalability. Identify potential weaknesses or areas for improvement in the deployments.
- Analyze the current CI/CD pipelines, automation processes, and deployment strategies. Identify bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, or areas for optimization in the continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows.
Infrastructure Design and Implementation
- Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure to support the hosting of websites and applications.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts/templates for automated provisioning and deployment.
- Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard AWS infrastructure and data.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational security policies.
System Administration
- Manage, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, ensuring high levels of reliability, security, and performance. Handle system monitoring, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Provide support and maintenance for Node.js and PHP-based web applications. Troubleshoot application-related issues and optimize performance.
- Manage MySQL databases including setup, optimization, backup, recovery, and security. Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability of database systems.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems and data.
- Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure readiness.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security specialists.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders.
Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AWS infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Keep documentation up-to-date to reflect any changes or updates to the environment.
Cost Management
- Monitor and manage AWS costs, optimizing resource allocation for cost efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures without compromising performance or security.
Required Qualifications:
- 9 years relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree +4 years relevant experience OR Master's Degree +2 years relevant experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer with a focus on AWS.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and best practices for AWS.

Pay Range: $25 - $55 per hour. Actual compensation is dependent upon a combination of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, level of education, and location.
