The Family Resource Center (FRC) is a program of the Alliance for Community Transformations. The Family Support Specialist uses their lived experiences to support others through services provided at the FRC. The FRC will offer parent education, peer support groups, and family engagement activities. The Family Support Specialist will be required to travel to North County every month.
Folks who are queer, trans, non-binary, Black, Indigenous, people of color, disabled, parents, are/have been system-impacted, and anyone who has experienced systemic oppression and/or gender-based violence, those with lived experiences such as SUDs and CWS involvement are encouraged to apply.
Wednesday- Saturday 11 am-7pm
Duties
Work closely with participants in need of support, resources, and direct services
Facilitate and coordinate Nurturing Parenting curriculum for participants of the FRC (training will be
provided)
Provide strengths-based case management to participants
Facilitate and coordinate Grief, LGBTQ+, Natural Disaster support groups, and others as needed (training will be provided) Travel to North County once a month
Prepare and coordinate family engagement activities such as crafts and meals
Respond to community needs
Participate in outreach events
Seek out and participate in ongoing training opportunities to best serve the community
Working with Program Director, maintain relationships with community partners.

Volunteer Support
Coach volunteers on efforts to support the FRC's group facilitation
Coordinate volunteer group assignments
Ensure that volunteer hours are documented and tracked

Administrative Duties
Support day-to-day office operations including reception, record keeping, and general maintenance
Create and update program forms, prepare and store information in digital and hard copy form
Assist in the facilitation of communication and dissemination of information between all Alliance Programs
Assist with monthly reports for grants
Participate in monthly calls with funder
Participant enrollment and scheduling
Data Entry Create publicity and marketing material
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED; college preferred
Lived experiences related to the job duties listed above are desired
Must obtain and maintain Mental Health First Aid certification (training provided)
Must obtain and maintain CPR Certification (training provided)
Must obtain Nurturing Parenting Certification upon hire (training provided)
Must obtain Grief Education (training provided)
Must obtain Mandated Reporter training upon hire (training provided)
Knowledge of:

Physical Requirements:
Facility to see read and distinguish printed and handwritten documents
Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech on the telephone
Facility to constantly use hands and arms to input data into computer and use adding machine
Ability to move boxes of files from one location to another; physical agility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and to bend, stoop, walk and reach overhead
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Must be able to concentrate for long periods of time

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and DMV clearance.
