Equality Charter School, founded in 2009, will expand upon its success in grades 6-12 and open Equality Charter Elementary School in the Fall of 2024. Equality Charter Elementary School (ECES) will enroll scholars in grades K-1 in the Fall of 2024 and continue to expand through grade 5 making Equality Charter School one of the largest independent charter schools serving grades K-12.
Equality Charter Elementary School is delighted to begin our search for the founding ECES K-1 intervention team! ECES is seeking "can do", "roll up your sleeves", "above and beyond is the norm" team players who are up for the job of founding teacher. A founding teacher must be someone who is very comfortable with adapting to change, as we anticipate the realities of opening a new school. Most importantly, our founding team members must epitomize our mission, vision and values to serve as brand ambassadors for our community and families, models for our scholars, and accountability partners for one another.

Reading Intervention Teacher Description
Equality Charter School is seeking a dynamic, talented Reading Intervention Teacher who is passionate about meeting the literacy needs of struggling scholars. We are looking for someone who approaches each child as a unique learner - an individual to better understand and know in order to help them grow. The ideal candidate is adaptive in nature, has a positive approach to hard work, and is relentless in their pursuit of seeing every child become a reader.
Required Duties*
- Build trusting relationships with struggling readers
- Develop and deliver small group lessons that meet the targeted needs of scholars
- Apply best practices of reading science to all instructional plans
- Deliver small group reading instruction in both push-in and pull-out formats
- Oversee initial testing of all new students to identify struggling readers and determine their needs
- Analyze testing data to create reading groups and develop schedules
- Administer ongoing reading assessments to monitor progress of remediation efforts
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, as needed, around teaching reading and supporting students in the mainstream setting
- Communicate with parents/guardians of remedial reading scholars as needed
- Collaborate with other Reading Intervention Teachers to ensure programs support each other and align appropriately across school divisions
- Lead or co-lead literacy-focused professional development sessions, as needed
*Please note that the Reading Intervention Teacher should be prepared to teach highly effective Tier 1 CKLA based reading instruction as a preventative measure.
Experience with the following programs and assessments are a plus: EarlyBird, CKLA, mClass (or Acadience or Dibbles), UFLI Foundations

- Bachelors only- 68k-85k
- Masters only-76k-93k
