Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensing Supervisor to join our team. This pivotal role involves overseeing various aspects of licensing, including the review and approval of home studies, renewals, and investigations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the Licensing Team, ensuring compliance with policies, and providing support and direction to staff and Foster Care providers. This position requires a blend of administrative skills, team leadership, and the ability to develop and implement training and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Duties: Sign off on home studies, checklists, and all licensing documents requiring supervisory approval. Manage the Licensing Team, providing direction, support, and conducting employee reviews.
- Documentation and Tracking: Maintain and update the licensing tracking sheet, ensure proper documentation is saved and obsolete documents are removed. Update the handbook, website, and training materials as needed.
- Policy and Procedure Oversight: Lead in the development and implementation of training, update licensing practices and procedures, and ensure alignment with expectations from DCYF.
- Communication and Support: Serve as the point person for the Licensing Team, offering guidance and support. Manage communications with foster parents and licensors regarding policy updates.
- Incident Management: Review incident reports for licensed homes, particularly those requiring physical intervention, and participate in investigations and intake processes as needed.
- Training and Development: Oversee and participate in the creation and implementation of training programs for foster parents and staff.
- Meetings and Collaboration: Lead Licensing Team staffings, participate in monthly kinship workgroups, and manage quarterly foster parent trainings/meetings.
- Administrative Tasks: Keep the Licensing Calendar updated, manage reminders for background checks, and handle the licensing process for new and closing families.
Qualifications:
- Musthave home study writing experience
- Proven experience in licensing supervision or a closely related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong capacity for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Knowledge of DCYF policies and procedures, and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
- Commitment to supporting Foster Care providers and ensuring the welfare of children in care.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Binti and Extended Reach.
- Familiarity with training development and implementation.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
