Job description

Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to recruit and license therapeutic foster parents across both program regions in compliance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations and to ensure that the highest degree of quality client care is consistently maintained. This position is integral in identifying and assessing individuals who are appropriate and demonstrate the capacity to care for and support foster children in their homes.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an annual Recruitment Plan for Louisville and Salt River Trail regions, per fiscal year that utilizes data to ensure recruitment efforts are targeted and diligent.
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communication platforms and strategies by tracking data related to recruitment efforts and licensing, to be reported monthly and quarterly. (Daily)
  • Organize and participate in community outreach to recruit foster parents, increase intake numbers, and establish relationships with community partners for Louisville and Salt River Trail regions, and reallocate efforts according to regional needs. (Weekly)
  • Collaborate with the Communications Department to develop multi-media program materials created for recruitment purposes. (Weekly)
  • Provide an informative response to therapeutic foster parent inquiries within one business day or before. (Daily)
  • Facilitate therapeutic foster parent orientation sessions. (Weekly)
  • Proactively communicate and support therapeutic foster parent applicants throughout the application process. (Daily)
  • Screen each therapeutic foster parent applicant by reviewing background checks, references, application, and interview information to ensure quality of care for clients and compliance with federal, state, local, and agency standards. (As Needed)
  • Facilitate interviews and home visits to complete a SAFE home study required for licensure of the home according to regulatory standards. (Weekly)
  • Collect required licensing documentation using an electronic records system for each therapeutic foster parent applicant. (Weekly)
  • Meet annual quota of licensing 12 homes in each fiscal year.
  • Participate in and occasionally facilitate team member meetings and events. (As needed)
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must pass background check(s) and meet agency vaccination requirements.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with team members and participants.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.

Education and Experience:
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, psychology, social work, sociology, counseling, or a related field; or have a high school diploma and 2 years of experience working in a related field.
  • A valid state driver's license and insurable driving record required.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certificate is required or must be willing to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements:
  • Works in office area(s) as well as in other community settings.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period.
  • Includes travel as needed within the community, foster homes, and other places related to on-call, recruitment, and home certification across Louisville and Salt River Trail program regions.
  • Work week is flexible, dependent upon the needs of the program, recruitment events, etc.
  • Is subject to on-call.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
