Reporting Dept: Procurement and Inventory Control
West Pak Avocado is looking for a dynamic individual to fill our Forklift Operator / Inventory Control Clerk position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Purchasing Manager and Site Manager, the Forklift Operator/Inventory Clerk will assist in ensuring inventory is counted daily, communicate with purchasing manager on any shortages of any material. Ensure production is always provided with all material necessary to pack. Works closely with other departments, helps form boxes and executes all other duties assigned by Site Manager.
- Oversee inventory and supplies according to company guidelines
- Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct number of items are in stock
- Forklift operator
- Off load material upon receipt and store away
- Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle times
- Review documentation and monitor products to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records
- Stock and issue materials or merchandise
- Prepare Material for Transfers
- Track accuracy of purchase orders and returns as well as defective items
- Scan packing slips/invoices into database
- Assist with office supply purchases made at New Jersey facility
- Inventory control in famous and printing tags labels
- In charge of box forming to Site Managers discretion
- Assist the bagging department
- Assist in stacking, packing, dumping
- Assist in changing film, netting, etc.
- Assist in forming boxes
- All other duties assigned by Site Manager
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 Years Forklift Experience
Skills
- Must be able to work in a warehouse and office setting
- Basic computer skills - word, excel, and outlook
- Must be bilingual (Spanish)
- Detail-oriented
- High problem-solving ability
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to work in a warehouse and office setting.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, with or without assistance
Physical demands include working in both office environments and production areas to communicate with supervisors and with operation employees. Within the office, the noise level is frequently quiet or moderately quiet, at or below 70 decibels and in the product plant areas noise levels can exceed 80 decibels when machinery is operating. Will have extensive internal and external interfaces with others and the work requires continual problem-solving, the prioritization of tasks and projects, resolution of conflicting needs and issues, and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret trends and data.
