Clary Sage College is seeking an Interior Design Instructor! This part-time position requires occasional on-campus work in Tulsa, along with distance education teaching of Interior Design courses.
Degree in Interior Design or related field, a minimum of three years professional design experience is required, may be in commercial and or residential design. Working knowledge of AutoCad and/or other CAD programs is a must. Ability to assist with a comprehensive and balanced curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a warm and friendly attitude with a sincere desire to see students succeed in the Interior Design industry by encouraging innovative design, critical thinking, and effective communication.
Flexible part-time hours (20-22 hours per week) with flex hours between on-campus and remote work, primarily in the evenings. Instructors are required to provide their own hardware (Mac Computer), software, and Internet service when working remotely. Licensed by OBPVS.
Teaching Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach all Interior Design subjects as assigned
- Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
- Adhere to curriculum expectations to ensure accreditation standards are met
- Perform a variety of instructional assistance, tutoring, and related support functions as needed; Tutor students as necessary on campus and remotely
- Document grades and attendance timely, post to transcript accordingly, maintain a working knowledge of Canvas
- Provide students with individualized or small group assistance, guidance, and study strategies for the development and improvement of basic skills
- Send welcome email to students on your roster two days before the scheduled start of class if applicable
- Participate actively in online course discussions, ensuring that all students are participating and interacting with one another. Use this opportunity to shape discussion, call attention to other approaches, and answer specific questions raised by students
- Respond to written assignments with personalized comments.
- Communicate suggested course improvements to the department head
- Support student retention by reviewing individual completion of learning activities, monitoring attendance, and contacting students as necessary
- Stay current with trends in Interior Design, industry standards, and common practices
- Ability to model the CARES philosophy and core values with courage, teamwork, perseverance, and vision
- Other duties as assigned
- Reports to the Interior Design Department Head

Requirements:
- Degree in Interior Design or related field
- Minimum of 3 verifiable recent years' professional design experience is required, may be in commercial and or residential design.
