- Performs pre-operational inspection of PIT/forklift to ensure it is functioning properly
- Operates PIT/forklift in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensures all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
- Transfers materials/products required by production
- Verifies weights of pallets/products
- Operates stretch wrapper
- Uses EIM handheld device to produce HUs for finished goods and applies to pallets – records HU on appropriate paperwork and in computer
- Ensure proper labeling of material being transported
- Ensures work area is clean and prepared for next shift or sanitation
- All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety
- Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations
- Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)
- Performs other duties, as assigned
- At least three (3) months of PIT/forklift operation experience
- At least four (4) months of continuous employment with one employer in the past two (2) years.
- Basic computer skills to navigate systems and perform data entry
- Experience with inventory control methods preferred, including use of handheld EIM device
- Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures
- Ability to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed
- Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
- Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as needed
- Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, below, and at shoulder level
- Must be able to use both arms/hands and legs/feet to operate forklifts or electric pallet and hand jacks
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level
- Ability to work while standing or walking on hard floors for a period of up to 8-10 hours/day
- Ability to climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas and to work at elevated levels and various heights and in confined spaces, as needed
- Ability to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold/freezing, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, flex/grip with wrists/hands, and use tools (e.g., box knife, metal scraper)
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves
