Work Schedule is Monday thru Friday 630 am - 230 pm or Monday thru Thursday 630 am - 430 pm.

- With training this position shall assist City Arborists in the maintenance of the City's urban forest in parks, City owned property, and trees in the right of way.
- Assist with cleanup of debris from tree pruning, which includes the ability to operate a brush chipper.
- Assist with all tasks associated with properly removing City owned trees which are dead, diseased, damaged, or as required for construction purposes.
- Assist the stump grinding crew with hauling of debris and soil, and with restoration of the site.
- Assist with tree planting, staking, mulching, water and working in the City tree nursery.
- Assist with plant health care which may include but not limited to: Administering soil and trunk injected insecticides for treatment of Emerald Ash Borer.
- Perform daily routine maintenance on equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and good driving record.
- Skill and ability in safely operating vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the following activities:
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to drive NON-CDL forestry trucks which include but are not limited to chipper trucks, soil flatbeds and wood hauling flatbeds.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.
