Job Description
Basic Purpose
Improve vegetation in state parks.
Typical Functions
- Manage forest lands, natural resources, range lands, and parks.
- Decide best and most efficient way to remove fallen timber.
- Design ways to manage forests that minimally impact environment and preserve land.
- Perform tree removal.
- Monitor the progress of different forests.
- Devise methods to keep forests free from disease, pestilence, and wildfires.
- Communicate with fire fighters and other forest workers.
- Utilize different tools and equipment to perform duties.
Level Descriptor
This is an entry level position.
Education and Experience
Highschool diploma
Must posses a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
Special Requirements
- Must be able to work alone or with a group.
- Must be able to perform all duties under direct supervision.
- Must be able to work out of town.
- Must be able to drive long distances to work.
- Must be able to stay in lodging provided by OTRD during working week.
