The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Forensics Manager to manage the Police department’s forensic unit operations to include crime scene investigation, forensic photography, forensic video analysis, friction ridge comparison/identification, National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN), Firearms and Toolmark Examinations. Perform difficult technical and administrative work requiring the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Experience: Six years of increasingly responsible experience in crime scene investigation, forensic photography, friction ridge examination, or a related forensic field including at least two years of lead or supervisory responsibility.
- Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in forensic science, criminal justice or a related field.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Required: Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability. IAI Crime Scene Investigator or leadership experience in a forensic discipline.
- Preferred: IAI Senior Crime Scene Analyst certification.
From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation, driving history check and a polygraph/CVSA to be conducted by the Police Department.
Compensation
Salary: $71,409.00 Annually
