The School District of Howards Grove is looking to hire a Head Football Coach for the 2024-2025 WIAA Football Season. The Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to student athletes and assistant coaches within the program.
Qualifications: This coaching position requires basic understanding and knowledge of the sport, the ability to motivate and communicate that knowledge in a manner appropriate to school-age student athletes, keeping the best interest of Howards Grove athletes in mind when making decisions. Experience as a player/coach is preferred. Acceptable background check required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare plans and strategies for practices and competitions. Must have knowledge of WIAA rules and regulations.
Prepare the team physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete effectively
Assist with scheduling, transportation, and budgeting
Assist in preparation and cleanup necessary to hold a scheduled event
Coordinate scheduling and facilities with Athletic Director, Administration, and office staff
The successful candidate will have a belief that sportsmanship is critical to the success of the program, and will also have the ability to cooperate, work with, and communicate with students, parents, colleagues, administration and the community, as well as be a team player.
Schedules and practices will be discussed at the time of interview. Practices and matches are generally held after school. The season begins in August.
