Food Service Employee
In a technical college environment under general supervision plans, prepares, and serves meals according to daily menus. Prepares and serves meals to students, staff and visitors in a dining service facility. Prepare and serve meals for banquets, civic group meetings, receptions etc.
Operate and maintain food service equipment. Maintain a safe clean and sanitary work environment. Follows safe food handling procedures for health and safety of consumers. Follows the standard operating procedures that ensure adherence to all applicable regulations for food safety preparation, sanitation and storage. Replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars. Performs the cleaning of equipment (mixer, fryer, grill, oven etc.) after use. Position requires working as a team and excellent customer service skills.
May perform cashier duties. Position requires a flexible schedule including early morning and evening hours. Must be able to lift, push, and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 Lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in preparation, cooking, and serving in a food service operation
Preferred Qualifications: (in addition to minimum qualifications)
ServSafe Certification
Food Service in an academic setting
Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations
Baking experience
