Job Summary
Plans, organizes, directs and supervises Food Service activities and the delivery of food to patients.
Essential Job Functions
- Meets expectations of department staff positions as required to meet customer expectations.
- Plans, organizes, directs and supervises all areas of Food Service operations for all customers including hiring scheduling, training, evaluation, education, promotion and termination.
- Maintains compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements concerning sanitation and food handling by following Policies and Procedures for Safety, Infection Control and Hazard Communication.
- Maintains cold food production including development of meals and recipes, par levels and documentation, coordinates portions, production, presentation, and prices at the direction of the Dietary Manager and Assistant Dietary Manager.
- Completes day to day paperwork in a timely manner including diet changes, job description and job analysis updates, school nutrition program documentation.
- Supports staff and encourages in them a sense of ownership of their work processes. Provides staff the opportunity to provide feedback regarding department and hospital operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience*
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required within one (1) year of hire.
- Ninety hours Food Service Supervisors class from American Dietetic Association.
- Minimum one year supervisory experience.
- Technical knowledge of Food Service and sanitation.
- Leadership skills to motivate.
- Sound decision making skills.
- Flexibility to accept change.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills and ability to quickly and accurately perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to develop menus and recipes for cold food preparation.
