This is a 2nd Shift position with a general work schedule of 5-6 days/week, Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays as needed, 12:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m./midnight. The base rate of pay is $24.10/hour, plus a shift premium of $1.00/hour. Team members must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as needed. This job is also eligible for overtime pay.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documents/records and calculates results accurately, takes corrective action when necessary (i.e., alert appropriate personnel to adjust process, identify, segregate, and isolate non-conforming product), and reports results to management
  • Interacts with management, USDA Officials, maintenance, and production personnel
  • Will be cross-trained in other QA job duties
  • Leads others by example
  • All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal Safety andFood Safety
  • Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations
  • Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in food manufacturing industry required, or other experience in Quality Assurance
  • Basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and utilize MS Office (Outlook/email, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret product specifications
  • Ability to perform accurate calculations by performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
  • Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as needed
  • Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed
  • Ability to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas, and work at elevated levels of various heights and in confined spaces, if needed
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, across, and below, and at shoulder level
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level
  • Ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use tools
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves
