JOB TITLE: Food Pantry Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Community Services
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To prepare and distribute food products to eligible individuals and maintain the pantry area clean and organized.
REPORTS TO: Smilie Filomeno, Program Director
SUPERVISES: N/A
I.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to
- Greet clients to create a pleasant atmosphere
- Responsible for receiving, dating, and storing all food deliveries
- Sorting food items, stocking shelves, checking for expiration dates, and discarding expired items
- Maintaining the pantry area clean and organized
- Assist in cleaning produce
- Inspecting all food deliveries, ensuring all canned goods are in good condition on the shelf. (Dented canned goods are put aside to return to a vendor or dispose of)
- Packing and distributing food packages to clients
II. QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School or Equivalency Diploma, preferred, but not required
- Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping for a private or public institution
- Strong communication skills
- Able to complete multiple tasks, accurately
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
- Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
- Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
- Bilingual: English/Mandarin/Cantonese or English/Spanish, required

V. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Food Pantry Clerk is responsible for maintaining an organized Food Pantry and distributing food products to eligible clients.

This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week at $18.00 per hour.
