Job Summary:
Applications are invited for the position of Food Justice Coordinator /Adjunct Faculty through a grant from The Mellon Foundation. This is an open-field search for a part-time, Adjunct Faculty/Coordinator position on a per semester basis with compensation corresponding to work plan and teaching assignments each semester through August 2026. The appointment has the potential to transition to a continuing position after the grant.
The Coordinator will join LCCC's Sustainable Agriculture Program in the Science and Math Division to enhance the program through the lens of Food Justice in collaboration with Oberlin College and local food and environmental justice organizations. Through commitments to understanding and supporting Black agrarianism, Indigenous food sovereignty, immigrant workers, incarcerated citizens, food access and land access for underserved populations, and other environmental and Food Justice issues, the Coordinator will fulfill the following responsibilities: Assist Sustainable Agriculture Program Coordinator in fulfilling the goals of the "Cultivating Community in the Great Lakes Region: Growing Food and Justice through the Engaged Humanities" grant, Organize, advertise, and deliver Food Justice professional development opportunities for LCCC Faculty, also open to Oberlin Faculty, Organize, advertise, and deliver Food Justice co-curricular workshops and experiences for LCCC students, faculty, and staff, also open to the Oberlin community and greater community of Lorain County, Coordinate new and existing community partner engagement related to Food Justice initiatives, Coordinate with LCCC's Equity by Design Team and the Racial Equity Leadership Academy to support campus-wide initiatives related to equity and social justice, Plan marketing and outreach opportunities and recruit students to the Sustainable Agriculture Program through the lens of Food Justice, Coordinate grant-funded student internships with community partners, the Science and Math Division, and Human Resources Department.
