Job Description
NRG USA is looking for an experienced Food Safety Quality Control Supervisor for a Food and Beverage Manufacturing Facility (Mt. Vernon location).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree of science preferably in Food Science or related field.
- At least 2 years' experience as a quality assurance supervisor in a food manufacturing facility
- Excellent Computer skills including emails, excel, word and internet research.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to details
- Certification in one or more of the following is preferred but not required: HACCP, SQF, PCQI.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that products made in the facility are made following the HACCP plan and comply both with FDA, USDA regulatory standards as well as customers' requirements.
- Ensure Facility Compliance with FDA, USDA and SQF regulations and requirements.
- Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality and Safety related policies to meet product quality standards.
- Ensure effective implementation of all pre-requisite programs (SSOP, GMPS, Preventive Maintenance, Product Identification, Traceability and Recalls and Education and Training.)
- Follow up with implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, Environmental Monitoring Program etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
- Review Production Batch Records and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
- Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
- Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards.
- Participate in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response.
- Perform other duties as directed by Quality Assurance Director
