Summary/Objective

Floral designer working in the Flower Shop to create arrangements of fresh or artificial floral for purchase by client families and/or general public.

Essential Functions

• Selects and arranges flowers and decorative items to create standard and creative custom floral arrangements.
• Consults with clients to determine their preferences and specifications before designing customized floral arrangements.
• Order fresh flowers from wholesaler and growers as required.
• Maintains accurate record of floral arrangement orders, special requests and delivery information.
• Ensures that flowers are properly watered and stored to prevent wilting.
• Maintains adequate supply of wires, foams, ribbons, tapes and other decorative supplies for shop.
• Advises customers on the proper care and maintenance of their selected floral arrangements.
• Serves in-store customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Proven floral design experience, a minimum of 1 year of related experience is preferred.

• Some computer skills necessary.

• Ability to handle sensitive situations.
• Able to work flexible hours.

This position has no direct management responsibilities
