Floor Supervisor I


STATUS:Full-time, Permanent

FLSA: Non Exempt

JOB GRADE: HG7

REPORTS TO: Table Games Shift Supervisor, Floor Supervisor II

SUPERVISES: Dealers


WORKING HOURS: This is an hourly non-exempt position. The incumbent is expected to devote such time and energy as is reasonably necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Position may require further availability evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.

SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for monitoring table games, dealers, and all non-departmental personnel coming in contact with the Table Games department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains constant presence in Table Games Pit
  2. Continually observes games in progress for possible irregularities in player/dealer conduct.
  3. Knowledge of dealer procedures and make sure they are being adhered to.
  4. Inform Shift Supervisor of any deviation from standard dealing procedures.
  5. Ensures the integrity of all games.
  6. Renders impartial decisions using all available means, i.e. dealer information, player information and surveillance.
  7. Immediately notifies Shift Supervisor when guest is dissatisfied with a decision.
  8. Maintain current knowledge of all excluded guests and Team Members.
  9. Follow Policies and Procedures when opening or closing games.
  10. Continually reviewing all dealers to increase skill level.
  11. Relay pertinent information regarding daily business to incoming FLOOR SUPERVISORs at shift change.
  12. Train dealers to comply with River Rock Casino dealing Policies and Procedures.
  13. Ensure dealer quality and efficiency to increase cost effectiveness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, reward and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  1. Must demonstrate reliability and flexibility in work schedule.
  2. Superior customer service skill required.
  3. MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR TABLE GAMES EXPERIENCE THAT INCLUDES ALL GAMES.
  4. Must be able to work independently.
  5. Must be able to get along with fellow Team Members and work as a team.
  6. Must present a professional appearance at all times.
  7. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business.

EDUCATION:

  1. High School diploma or GED or equivalent required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  1. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
  3. Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence.
  4. Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

  1. Ability to proactively streamline processes for company's return on investment.
  2. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  3. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  4. Ability to process detailed work and requests for information or assistance in a timely manner.
  5. Ability to apply regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts, and policy to practical situations.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.
  2. Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Must be able to maneuver around all areas of the casino.
  2. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  4. Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  5. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist and grip items.
  6. Must be able to respond to visual and audio cues.
