Packing House Floor Supervisor
Job Description
The Packing House Floor Supervisor will help ensure that the boxes of fruit are packed consistently and meet the standards of quality per the marketer's specifications. The Packing House Floor Supervisor will work closely with the Packing House Manager, Packers, Quality Control and Sizer Operator to ensure that the grading, packing and distribution of the fruit is correct.
Duties and Responsibilities
- · Checking the quality of the incoming fruit throughout the day.
- · Monitor and report the quality of fresh fruit by checking packed boxes.
- · Maintain, order and replenish inventory of Packaging Supplies
- · Maintain daily records for productivity, labor needs, and fruit information.
- . Supervise and direct packing-house employees.
Skills & Requirements
- · Possess knowledge of Fruit grades (Nectarines, Peaches, & Plums).
- · Possess knowledge of Fruit defects.
- · Ability to comprehend, read, write, and communicate proficiently and interact with all levels of personnel.
- · Ability to abide by Company employment, safety, and food safety policies.
- · Maintain awareness of food safety.
- · Communicating with other employees.
- · Ability to report to work early in the morning, work extensive hours which may include weekends, and be very flexible as needed by varying production schedules.
- · Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- · Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time Seasonal for Fresh Fruit Packing Season
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on work experience.
