The YMCA of Austin is seeking a highly motivated Floating Teacher to join our team in serving the youth of our community. The Floating Teacher will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the infant and preschool programs and is responsible for keeping the facility in accordance with the Texas Child Care Licensing requirements.
This position will report to a home site daily as an Early Education Teacher, unless there is a need for a teacher at a different program. The Floating Teacher is responsible for ensuring that all students and staff are compliant with safety measures. This position is a Full-Time non-exempt role, based out of the EAC-YMCA Branch, and directly reports to the Lead Teacher.

Salary: $17.00 an hour

What are the details?
Provide care for children ages 6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) to 4 years old, such as establishing schedules and routines, grooming, feeding, changing diapers.
Maintain a welcoming, safe, and clean environment which includes cleaning classrooms and equipment and disinfecting of toys.
Guide children through research-based curriculum to grow their ability to grasp new concepts, understand increasingly complex information, and prepare for the next level of care or entry into school.
Develop respectful and dynamic relationships with families and staff.
Distribute snacks following sanitation and YMCA Guidelines.
Build confidence with a special emphasis on social-emotional development, impulse control, and social skills.
Maintain required records relating to Early Education Program.
Responsible for the safety of the children within the Texas Child Care Regulation directives.
Enforce safety and security standards for children and visitors.
Attend required staff development and team meetings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the Purpose:
Education and Experience: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Minimum age of 18 years. Related education and/or experience in childhood development. Prior experience working with young children preferred.
