Pay Rate Min $15.50 to Max $23.50
Summary: Floater responsibilities are to assist and fill in for the shelling plant top deck operators as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform all job duties with health safety and food safety as the number one priority.
  • Employees will monitor and maintain the Re-mill station.
  • Floater will remill peanuts as needed and document peanuts remilled.
  • The floater will need to have a strong understanding of the shelling plant process to fill in top deck positions when needed.
  • The floater will be required to operate the LSK bag off station when LSK's are being bagged off.
  • Follows FOOD safety responsibilities while supporting all BRC and HACCP guidelines.
  • Assist with sanitation and production as needed.
  • Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Assists with any other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job fills in for the shift supervisor when the supervisor is absent.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one-year experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment, or one-year experience running complex farm equipment, one year of experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be mechanically inclined; having the capability to change decks, screens and sizing reels not limited to any other function needed within the shelling process.
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The shelling facility is not a climate-controlled environment.
In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his supervisor that are essentially related to his duties.
