Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

This internship is a part of a 10-week summer internship program opportunity. This role will be based at Archer's headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided. 

What You'll Do:

Archer is seeking a highly motivated and talented Flight Controls Systems Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship opportunity provides hands-on experience in Flight Control Software, Flight Sciences and Software and an opportunity to contribute to real-world projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineering team, gaining exposure to various aspects of the engineering process.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to contribute to design and development aspects 
  • Conduct research on relevant engineering topics, analyze data, and present findings to support project decisions
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports
  • Participate in the creation of prototypes and assist in testing and evaluating their performance
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, operations and other engineering teams, to ensure a seamless integration of engineering solutions
  • Actively participate in problem-solving activities, proposing innovative solutions and troubleshooting issues as they arise

What You Need:

  •  
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to electrical engineering, computer science, aerospace or a related field at an accredited university, preferably a Junior going in to your Senior year
  • Strong academic performance in relevant coursework
  • Ability to troubleshoot integrated systems, including analyzing and interpreting data
  • Familiar with scripting languages such as python and matlab
  • Familiar with using lab equipment (e.g. multimeter, oscilloscope, etc)
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Results focused 
  • Aligned with Archer's core values 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Previous coursework or experience in engineering related fields
  • Familiarity with the aviation industry

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
