Job Summary:
Compensation: $77,358 - $108,301 (DOQ)
The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for centrally managing the organization’s transportation equipment, processes, technology, and overall strategy. This person will develop/enhance/monitor corporate KPIs and other measurement systems associated with equipment, drivers, safety, maintenance, and training processes. This person must ensure that all company vehicles and employees meet safety and compliance requirements, including DOT and OSHA guidelines as well as company policies.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Manage all aspects of the organization’s fleet program including leasing, purchases, sales, maintenance, and repair process. Partners closely with external vendors and service providers to insure quality, safety and effective cost management
- Develops programs to improve fleet efficiency, monitor KPIs, measure safety, and monitor costs for continuous improvement
- Leads change and drives results across multiple locations and geographies. Responsible for setting longer-term fleet and transportation strategies for the company
- Partners closely with internal customers and leaders to resolve issues, set policy, and make financial decisions related to fleet and transportation programs
- Establishes processes to maintain and monitor compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations as well as state/federal tax programs related to fleet management
- Establishes and refines training programs associated with drivers and fleet management
- Leads incident/accident investigations when appropriate. Establishes corrective actions and makes appropriate policy recommendations
- Centrally administers fleet software utilization and ensures compliance with DOT mandated Electronic Log Data (ELD)

Qualifications/Skills:
- Working knowledge of OSHA/DOT safety rules and regulations
- High level of diplomacy and tact, ability to adapt to complex situations and make decisions using sound judgement.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to maintain complex data, spot patterns, and present conclusions to senior level leaders
- Ability to manage many projects at once, capability to influence and partner across multiple levels and departments within the organization
- Ability to travel occasionally as job requires
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in supply chain, operations, business, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial fleet programs, including experiences in route planning, maintenance, compliance, leasing, purchasing, and repair
- Experience using fleet management software and fleet monitoring technologies
- 2+ years in the building products industry desired, but not required
