Fleet Mechanic

NorCal Ground is hiring a Fleet Mechanic to help maintain a fleet of 67 vehicles. Our trucks are put to the test daily delivering packages to a wide range of customers throughout the Sacramento area ranging from Davis to Lincoln. Most of our maintenance is preformed in the evenings so the trucks have very little down time. The drivers may not see you but they will appreciate you as well maintained vehicle is of upmost importance. Learning the delivery side of the business will be a requirement.

Mechanic-ASE or school certificate or 3 years work experience with references

Entry level position available

Deisel experience preferred, not required

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, some Holidays 12-8 pm

Work performed in the field and in the shop, will dispatch to any roadside break down

Must be able to stay on task and complete work timely

Perform high-quality preventative maintenance, inspections, and general repairs.

Perform pre/post trip inspections and perform necessary repairs

Perform Tire and brake maintenance as needed

Must know all disposals of waste and recycling requirements.

Cleaning vehicles and shop regularly along with visual inspections

Maintain accurate and proper records for all repairs performed on our software

Practice safe work habits and maintain clean workplace

Held accountable for maintenance performed

Must have your own tools to complete daily tasks, specialty tools will be provided

Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.

Must be able to carry and transport up to 100 pounds up to 20 feet.

Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.

Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral.

Follows all company and Cal OSHA safety procedures

Report directly to Director of Operations

Submit parts order to DOP timely

Clean DMV Record

Able to safety operate 16-26 foot vehicles

Lift, carry, walk with heavy items

Pass pre-employment background checks and drug and physical

Routine drug testing

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
