Job Description:
Colleague is currently looking for a Fleet Maintenance Manager in the Dallas,TX Are. The Fleet Maintenance Manager be working for a Landscape company. This would be a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the maintenance and repair schedules for a fleet of vehicles, including trucks, trailers, lawn mowers, tractors, and other specialized equipment.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of fleet assets.
· Coordinate with drivers, operators, and field supervisors to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repair tasks.
· Perform regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to assess their condition and identify any issues or potential problems.
· Oversee the procurement of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for Fleet Maintenance and repair activities.
· Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback as needed.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to vehicle operation and maintenance.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, repair orders, and inventory levels.
· Monitor fleet performance metrics, such as fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle downtime, and implement measures to optimize efficiency and reduce expenses.
· Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, purchasing, and finance, to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.
Skills:
· Proven experience in Fleet Maintenance management, preferably in the landscaping or construction industry.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques for a variety of vehicles and equipment.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Leadership abilities with a focus on team building, motivation, and fostering a positive work culture.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with employees, suppliers, and management.
· Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software for tracking maintenance activities and managing inventory.
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
· Certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is a plus.
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is desirable.
