The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of sampling equipment and gear, including, but not limited to rotary screw traps, fyke nets, and fish passage monitoring systems; maintenance and repair of vehicles, vessels, and trailers; and assisting in the collection of environmental and biological data where needed.
In order to be eligible for this position, you must either be transfer eligible or take and pass the following exam:

Working Conditions
This position will be based out of the Chico field office and may require frequent travel to Rancho Cordova Headquarters.

Special Requirements
- Willingness to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays
- Travel to perform field work throughout the State
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Work in and around water (including wading and snorkeling)
- Perform routine work in order to learn
- Wear a uniform
- Operate boats and tow trailers daily
- Ability to swim 50 yards and stay afloat at least five minutes; good physical condition; and ability to lift 40 pounds.
