Job Description
This Financial Analyst position will support efforts to invest in health services throughout the NYC Health + Hospitals system, with a focus on collecting and tracking revenue performances against various targets, initiatives, and business plans.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a liaison between operational/program and finance staff/leadership for expertise, including expense, revenue, and operations. The Senior Financial Analyst will need to become well-versed in the full breadth of Health + Hospitals health services and initiatives within their area of focus; understand the role of payment mechanisms, such as VBP, Cash, Accrual, periodic payments, and maintain a deep understanding of operational and programmatic impacts on budget. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist with maintaining the revenue budget, submit modifications, and reporting of the CDCR.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Develop a deep understanding of the primary components and drivers of the Revenue trends, seasonality, and political climate
- Maintain current knowledge of state and federal reimbursement policies related to areas of focus.
- Monitor and track City related initiatives and incorporate to revenue budget.
- Provide support for Revenue forecasting and evaluation of performance.
- Support Monthly reporting with CDCR, Membership, utilization, other key metrics
- Using a deep understanding of Epic, revenue cycle operations, and clinical operations, drill into data to identify patterns and issues, and recommend areas for further investigation or optimization.
- Cultivate data expertise focusing on H+H systems including Epic, Peoplesoft, PCC, Ondemand, and other key sources of analytical inputs, and advise colleagues on the development and use of reports from these systems.
- Produce and run relevant reports from various data systems
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings and workgroups to represent Finance leadership and maintain a steady flow of communication between Finance and other areas.
- Work with Budget Team/other departments to translate financial models into modifications to corporate and facility budgets as needed.
- Conduct variance analyses between initial projections and actuals to identify opportunities for improvement in the development of budget projections and implementation of new initiatives.
- Assist with research and communicate background information for proposed initiatives to provide context for decision-makers.
- Assist with developing tools, resources, and methodologies to support the creation or analysis of fiscal models.
- Gather and analyze data and prepare reports in response to requests from upper management.
- Inform Finance leadership of emerging issues and, where needed, recommend solutions.
- Develop adhoc analyses upon requests from internal partners (facilities/controller’s office/growth team).
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
2. Two years of experience in business, government, hospital, educational or a non-profit organization in analysis, development and implementation of systems and sub-systems. Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs; or,
3. A Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration or approved related fields from an accredited college or university may be equated to a maximum of one year of related experience; or,
4. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.

- Collaboration across divisions in a large, complex organization
- Prioritizing competing demands from a variety of stakeholders
- Has an understanding of Quantitative analysis, Financial analysis and Scenario modeling
- Has strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills
- Preferred skills with Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Excel, Tableau Desktop & Server, PeopleSoft and Epic

Pay: $49,486.00 - $70,000.00 per year
