We are looking to grow and build our leadership team by adding in a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations of First Methodist Church serves the Lord and builds up His Church as a godly leader, equipper and administrator. This person promotes the vision of First Methodist Church, gives leadership to the Staff and Ministry Teams, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the church.

Position Summary:
- Staff Leadership
- Guide, equip, and encourage the staff
- Plan for and facilitate staff meetings and activities in collaboration with the Senior Pastor
- Oversee staff practices including recruitment & hiring, onboarding & training, and performance management & annual reviews.
- Handle Benefits such as pension and health insurance.
- Supports the work of the Staff Parish Relations Committee with the Senior Pastor
- Finance
- Give leadership to the Finance Committee developing tools and reports for monthly supervision of the church’s gifts and expenses
- Oversee the recording of giving (accounts receivable) by the Office Manager and expenses by Rogers CPA
- Develop an Annual Report of Giving and Ministry in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and Director of Communications
- Develop and Implement an Annual Program of Generosity (pledges)
- Facility
- Give leadership to the Board of Trustees
- Oversee scheduling and use of facility in collaboration with the Office Manager and Facilities Manager
- Oversee maintenance, vendors, and purchases
- Assist in the development and oversight of technology (computers, internet, cameras)
- Ministry
- Supports the work of the Church Council, participating in ministry vision, strategy, and implementation
Qualifications Needed:
- Several years of leadership experience
- Alignment with the mission of the church
- Able to join the church body and be in attendance at services on Sunday
- Strong communication skills
- Expert in using spreadsheets, streamlining processes
Job Details:
- Job Duties are mostly carried out Monday-Friday but some evening meetings and Sunday involvement
- Flexibility of scheduling
- Will work out of the church office in Morehead City
- Reports to the Senior Pastor
- Will lead a team of ministry staff
- Salary: $55k-$70k
