Firewatch/Csa/Laborer

The CSA/Fire Watch personnel may be cross-trained and considered as qualified to perform regulatory required confined space attendant and fire watch duties/responsibilities. May be capable of completing general labor assignments following the direction of an assigned company supervisor. Position Requires Valid Basic Orientation Plus and TWIC Card with Industrial Experience

Typical Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Monitor entrants during the job and during entry and exit to help ensure their safety
• May not abandon their post for any reason while personnel are in the space unless relieved by another qualified attendant
• Monitor atmospheric conditions in the space prior to and during entry
• Control access to the confined space
• Summon emergency assistance as needed
• Assess hazards in and around the space
• Keep records of confined space work, such as air test results, personnel entry/exit, etc.

Perform FW duties

• Patrol constantly to watch areas of work
• Have an understanding of safety procedures and how to implement them
• Maintain safety features, such as fire extinguishers as stated in the safety permit
• Survey the workspace for any potential risks or leaks before, during and after the workday
• Prepare to operate fire extinguishers, water hydrants and hoses
• Remain vigilant on-site whenever colleagues are doing work
• Keep a record of any risks and solutions
• Contact and inform emergency personnel as soon as any issues arise
• Report and map any signs of smoke
• Make sure that all fire watch equipment is operational
• Clean up any litter and other waste when spotted on the grounds
• Investigate small smoke trails
• Inform visitors of fire safety in area

Requirements:

• 1+ years of hands-on relevant work experience within a chemical/industrial

work environment. Will make exceptions on a case-by-case basis

• Positive disposition, demonstrates passion, integrity and responsibility
• Basic computer competency with Microsoft Office products and ability to

learn client systems as required

• Familiar with CSA/Firewatch measures and duties
• Must be able to pass a DISA drug screen and background check
• Must have Basic Orientation Plus, Twic Card, Valid ID/DL, and have social

security card available upon hire.
