Duties:
The Firefighter shall provide Initial Response for any fire, rescue, EMS, hazmat, or emergency services request/incident on or near the Worksite. The Firefighter shall provide emergency response, training and drills, testing and inspections, monitoring and maintenance, pre-plans, equipment, and additional services as listed. The Firefighter shall have at a minimum the following qualifications:
- Current Firefighter training or equivalent state fire training
- Trained and qualified as rescue technicians for confined space, high angle rescue, and water rescue
- Current EMT or paramedic certification (preferred)
- Have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in safety related work and/or operations (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of first aid, CPR/AED, respiratory protection, industrial hygiene, HAZMAT, OSHA compliance, permit to work, and emergency management system
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments.
- Fluent in English language including reading, writing, and speaking; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide firefighting and rescue services
- Perform search and rescue operations in hazardous environments
- Operate firefighting equipment, such as hoses, ladders, and fire extinguishers
- Perform fire suppression activities, including extinguishing fires and controlling flames
- Provide medical assistance, including administering CPR and basic first aid
- Conduct fire safety inspections and enforce fire codes and regulations
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have an active twic card (or in the process of obtaining one)
- Physical fitness and ability to pass a physical examination
- Ability to work in high-stress situations and make quick decisions
- Mechanical knowledge for operating firefighting equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Firefighter 1 minimum certification or NFPA 108
- Certifications in areas of safety, PPE, permits, etc.
- Trained and certified in NFPA 1006 for Technical Rescue, NFPA for Hazardous Materials, and meet OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1910.120.
