FIRE SPRINKLER SERVICE TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY
The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician serves VVFP customers by installing, servicing, troubleshooting deficiencies, and repairing fire protection systems and products.

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician reports to their Service Department Manager for project-related questions or concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Troubleshoot system deficiencies to determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform repairs to existing Fire Sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems.
  • Provide on-call emergency repair services 24/7 (rotationally) as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing required forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Perform tenant improvement installation work as needed.
  • Strive to satisfy and meet the client’s needs.
  • Ability to maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
  • Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Must adhere to all company and departmental policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Vegas Valley Fire Protection’s mission, vision, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Other duties that are related to the fundamental aspects of the position may be assigned at the discretion of Management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service fire protection equipment.
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience performing Fire Sprinkler Service related duties.
  • Must have a Fire Sprinkler certification (G-Card) issued by the State of Nevada Fire Marshall’s office or local AHJ.
  • OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 required.
  • Must be 18 years of age at hire date.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient with reading, legible writing, and basic typing skills.
  • Ability to comply with all federal and state agency requirements.
  • Must possess the proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format.
  • Must be a citizen/naturalized citizen or permanent resident alien without conditions on status of the United States of America by the date of the first test instrument.
