As part of our commitment to safety and environmental responsibility, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Fire Operations Liaison.
As the Fire Operations Liaison at Tesla, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and communities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will lead and implement comprehensive fire safety programs and initiatives. This role is pivotal in mitigating fire-related risks across our Energy, Charging, and Service businesses, contributing to our mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Based in the Bay Area, CA or Austin, TX this role involves frequent regional and international travel to support the expanding footprint of our business.
- Collaborate with regional teams to assess and enhance emergency response protocols, incident management procedures, and contribute to the development of standardized documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for fire safety-related matters, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities. (IAFC, NVFC, CalFire, NFPA, etc)
- Provide expert guidance on fire safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices, ensuring Tesla’s compliance and commitment to the highest safety standards
- Lead training programs and awareness campaigns to empower employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to fire emergencies
- Drive global engagement in fire service communities through conferences and workshops and support the development and upkeep of Tesla product fire department response training content
- Lead efforts to proactively communicate product and facility fire response recommendations and processes to authorities having jurisdiction
- Support global facilities and product deployment teams, both direct and channel with permitting, inspections, and code-required maintenance, operations, and emergency plans
- Willingness to travel at least 25%+ (regional, US and some international)
- Must have held a senior leadership position (Lieutenant/Captain/Chief or above) within the fire service for at least 5+ years. Major metropolitan area and all-risk experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$68,000 - $222,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
