The City of Charles City, Iowa is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief. A candidate must have five (5) years of experience in a fire department, OR three (3) years in a fire department with two (2) years of comparable experience and/or educational training. The successful candidate should have a strong management background and strong leadership skills. Charles City has a population of 7,396 and is a diverse community of residential, business and manufacturing. The Fire Chief would supervise a volunteer department of about 25 firefighters. The Chief would oversee the everyday operations of the fire department including public outreach, budget, maintenance and more.
