Finishing Operator

IK Hofmann is seeking Finishing Operators for a client in Cartersville. The Finishing Operator is responsible for running yarn through Gilbo Air Entanglement, Twisting or Suessen Heatset machines so that it is reprocessed. Job Requirements:

1. Pick up packages of yarn from as low as floor level and place on creel package.
2. Take finished packages off Doff tray to place on buggy.
3. Push finished buggy to Gilbo inspection area.
4. Bending to creel, as well as rethread machine.
5. Use of tools including ring knife or snips
6. Pick up packages of yarn from as low as floor level and place on buggy up to shoulder height.
7. Push buggy to cable twister
8. Place 1 package at a time in bucket that is slightly below waist level and start the Doff cycle by pushing the finished package onto the Doff conveyor.
9. Take twisted yarn off the Doff conveyor and place in a plastic box at the end of the Twister.
10. Bending to repair broken ends
11. Place packages on creel posts that are from 20 inches from floor to about shoulder height.
12. Thread machine into Heatset box, then thread into take-up winder on rear of machine
13. Take finished packages off Doff conveyor and place onto buggy.
14. Push buggy to the Heatset inspection area
15. Bending to service the bottom levels on the winders to rethread and fix miss-Doffs.
16. Walk on platform in narrow space between the winders.
17. Be aware of Aquafil's Recycling Guidelines and Environmental Management Systems Policy (see supervisor if further explanation is needed).
18. Assist supervisors/Crew Leaders during spin pack/pre-filter changes when needed.
19. Assist all other operators when needed when problems persist with their machine.
20. Report any discrepancies to the Supervisor/Department Manager.

Job Qualifications:

1. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
2. Must be able to stand in a standing position for up to 12-hour shifts
3. Must be able to work 12-hour swing shift (NIGHTS)
4. Must be able to remain in the facility until the end of the shift.
5. Must be able to wear steel toed shoes, and any required PPE.
6. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, kneel and work in narrow workspace areas.
7. Must be able to read/detect any color, quality, damage.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with operators, crew leaders and supervisors and/or managers.
9. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions which are posted in English.
