D/F Machine Operator - Exit
POSITION REPORTS TO:
Department Manager/Production Supervisor
POSITION OVERVIEW
Operator doffs rolls of fabric into a finishing range that he sets up to specifications. Must monitor and inspect the product to insure first quality. Also doff the finished product and pack to specifications and move with a lift truck to proper storage area. Change coating blades and calibrate settings. Take samples of product to the testing labs as required. Perform all Daily and Weekly Team Maintenance duties of the job. Must follow all specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Successfully complete and perform all requirements of Operator levels.
2. Follow Range Start-Up Procedure in Production Finishing Manual.
3. Process designated rolls on Lot Sheet and document on Tenter Production Report.
4. Complete all required paperwork correctly and effectively.
5. Complete audits as required with appropriate follow-up.
6. Inspect rolls according to Range Grading Specification and document on Inspection Report.
7. Pack out rolls according to Process Specification.
8. Carry headers to lab as specified on Process Specification.
9. Follow Range Style Change and Range Shut-Down Procedure as required by schedule.
10. Perform preventive maintenance duties as outlined in Range PM Procedure.
11. Perform daily housekeeping.
12. Attend team meetings.
13. Participate as leader in plant activities (i.e. OFI, MQSP, M.O.C.)
14. Understand the environmental impacts and aspects of job-related activities. Follow established Valway and Milliken & Company guidelines concerning use of all chemicals. Comply with all Environmental regulations and Milliken Environmental Policies and Rules.
15. Perform any other duties assigned by Production Manager or Senior Production Manager as necessary.

  • Ability to use computer

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • Ability to read and write
  • The ability to perform basic math calculations

  • Ability to comprehend written/verbal instruction

  • Ability to operate a lift truck safely and efficiently
  • Ability to adhere to all plant safety specifications
  • Ability to work as a team member with little supervision

including reading information from printed sources and

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION
This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day.
SHIFT/WORK HOURS
Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
  • 1st Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
