PrideStaff is working with an Industrial Manufacturer who is seeking a skilled Level III Spray Finisher. The Finish Associate Level III is responsible for working as directed within the Finishing Department preparing and finishing/painting product as specified by the customer. Work is performed in an efficient and effective manner resulting in workmanship that meets quality, scheduling, and budgetary expectations set forth by the company.

Location: Charlotte, NC 28216

Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with required OT as needed to meet customer demand

Pay Rate: $22-26/hr. based on experience

Advanced Duties and Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Sanding- Understands the reasons and process of using different sanding grits and sanding grit sequences to achieve specified final finishing results. Can sufficiently use a block sander or operate a palm sander.
  • Repairs & Touch Ups- Capable of using wood putty, filler, glue/sawdust to make minor repairs to materials prior to finishing product or crayons, pencils, fill-sticks, etc. to make final acceptable touch-ups.
  • Staining- Capable of wiping stains in a consistent manner to get a desired result.
  • Spraying- Capable of accurately applying sealer and topcoat finishes to any product
  • Stain Mixing- Has a basic understanding of how to mix component ink colors and bases to achieve a desired stain or color match.
  • Materials- Understands basic difference and spray characteristics of both water base and lacquer spray systems including such materials as glazes, gel stains, polyurethanes, etc.
  • Track Record- Recognized by peers, supervisors, and managers as having a proven history over a sustained period of consistently meeting Finish Associate Level III performance expectations.

  • The physical strength required for the job can be described as “Medium Work to Heavy Work”.
  • The employee must occasionally lift, carry, pull, push, or move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • The employee is primarily required to stand throughout the workday as well as periodically crouch, kneel, and stoop. On occasion work must be performed entirely overhead.
  • The employee is required to reach and grasp with their hands and arms and use their fingers to handle or feel objects or tools. Work at times may include repetitive motions.
  • The job is typically performed indoors in controlled environmental conditions. On occasion, work is performed in non-controlled environments including outdoors exposed to elements.
  • The employee is regularly required to hear and understand verbal directions and be able to talk and communicate in preferably the English language.
  • The employee is required to have an acceptable level of vision including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is required to work with noise levels that are typically low to moderate but on occasion may be loud enough to require noise canceling ear plugs or headphones.
