We are looking to hire a Fine Gardener, who possesses a great attitude and a penchant for New England gardening. About The Role
The Fine Gardener will adopt the company values, set up gardening schedules, and service gardens and shrubs in a manner that follows best practices bringing the client’s vision / wants to life. This person will work along with the management team to draft appropriate maintenance schedules, meet with and educate clients, and be an active leader during garden installations & maintenance work.
In addition, this role will be responsible for assisting the company’s sales efforts and managing customer relations, by cultivating new relationships with potential leads and fostering great communication with existing clients, making sure we stay abreast of their needs in any capacity and deliver to their expectations. This person will be expected to sustain a big-picture, friendly, customer-focused perspective to their work, and offer customer insight to the management team.
Job Duties:
- Work with management on leading & growing the Fine Gardening Division
- Communicating with clients throughout the season
- Container design and installation
- Pruning
- Plantings; new installations, annual planting projects and transplantings
- Garden Bed Maintenance; deadheading, dividing, weeding, fertilizing
- Assist with General Landscaping on Fine Gardening properties; clean ups, mulching
- Inspect, monitor, identify & treat plant health issues
- Maintain complete & accurate job sheets & job notes
- Promote new landscape enhancements to our customers that will improve their property
Ideal candidates should possess:
- Horticultural knowledge (degree, experiential equivalent, or other certificate)
- Ability to work in cloud-based CRM software & Google Suites
- Demonstrated effective customer service/sales experience
- A personality that is professional, personable, energetic, and have a strong work ethic
- An ability to self-start and effectively lead a small team
- An ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
- A valid driver's license and be able to provide their own transportation to and from work
- Possess Pesticide Applicators license (or be willing to work towards obtaining certification)
- Fluent English speaker. Bonus if you are also fluent in Spanish.
