What will I do?
As a Financial Staff Accountant you will complete the monthly close process for assigned regions, ensuring that the monthly results are analyzed and reported accurately and timely. Prepare a monthly trend analysis for each region of responsibility, which is fully researched, accurate and timely. Complete all assigned balance sheet analyses within required timeframe. Assist with Oracle process and system improvements and other non-close projects, and internal/external audits.
General Accounting
- Perform month-end close procedures such as journal entries, account analyses and income statement review.
- Perform monthly account reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet and income statement, while applying accounting principles.
- Ensures compliance with group accounting methods, policies and principles.
- Present analysis of results in monthly trend meeting.
- Research and resolve field office inquiries on financial statements.
- Interface with field personnel in a professional and responsive manner.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, identify and resolve issues by working with subledger teams.
- Work with external and internal auditors; prepare audit schedules for quarterly, year-end, controls and internal audits as needed.
- Special projects as required.
Oracle /Special Projects
- Evaluates procedures, process flows, department controls and systems. Works with subledger teams, project team and management to identify and propose corrective actions or process improvements. Focus on improving the accuracy of financial statements, and efficiency of monthly close process.
What is required for this role?
- College degree (BS) – Accounting Major
- Minimum 3 years of accounting month-end close experience, including the basic theories and applications of general accounting monthly close process and balance sheet analysis, or 3 years of public accounting required.
- Excellent PC skills to include proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivots, hlookups) and meeting tools (Teams, Zoom).
- Proficiency in systems such as Oracle or SAP is a plus.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills. Should be able to identify problems and propose a resolution, and/or related process and system improvements.
- Excellent planning, organization and time management skills.
- Ability to successfully carry out multiple assignments concurrently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels and across diverse cultures.
- Set and maintain a high standard of quality for assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to be an effective team member and handle project assignments responsibly.
