The Office of Budget & Planning at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Financial Operations Manager. Reporting to the Vice President for Financial Planning and Operations, the Financial Operations Manager will serve as the strategic financial partner to central administrative units including Finance, HR, Police, and Facilities. The incumbent will work closely with the business managers that support the day-to-day Financial Operations of these areas to ensure alignment and efficiencies.
The Office of Budget & Planning assists the university community in maximizing the utilization of fiscal resources in a manner that is consistent with guidelines established by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, as well as federal, state, and local government agencies. WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Financial Operations Manager will serve as the strategic financial partner to central administrative units including Finance, HR, Police, and Facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Oversee financial management of administrative units (Finance, HR, Police, Facilities).
- Produce forecasts and multi-year budgets for administrative areas.
- Work with business managers to produce monthly variance analysis.
- Meet regularly with the department leadership to address issues and concerns.
- Work with department administrators and finance staff to develop strategies that achieve the units’ long-term financial objectives.
- Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide support and guidance to finance coordinators and business managers to ensure consistency and best practices.
- Support any ad-hoc requests as necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with financial analysis in higher education
- Advanced experience with Excel
- Working knowledge with Power BI
- Experience with Peoplesoft Financials
- Strong analytical, financial, and organizational skills
