Job description

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Financial Fraud Investigator to conduct thorough investigations into various Financial Frauds with the ultimate goal of safeguarding the integrity of Morgan Stanley and its clients. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to combat fraud effectively and maximize financial recovery of funds.
In the Corporate Services division, we provide solutions that enable Morgan Stanley's workforce, across our global workplace locations, to effectively and efficiently work in the service of our clients. This is a Vice President level position within Security & Investigations, which develops and implements security and life safety strategies for all Firm employees and facilities.

What you'll do in the role:
- Conduct time sensitive professional investigations into allegations and BU escalations of wire transfers, debit/credit cards, checks, ACH, and other suspect frauds that potentially and negatively may impact the financial integrity of Morgan Stanley and its clients.
- Provide fraud awareness training to Morgan Stanley business units through the identification of current fraud trends and process deficiencies.
- Collaborates with Fraud Operations, Risk Management, and Legal and Compliance to provide a proactive, comprehensive, and effective program to combat Financial Fraud and elder financial exploitation and/or abuse.
- Routinely engages with industry Financial Institutions' Investigative/Security teams to maximize Financial Fraud recovery, exchange information, analyze current trends, and combat fraud schemes impacting the global financial industry.
- Initiates and coordinates the referral of Financial Fraud cases impacting clients to Law Enforcement Agencies to conduct further investigation for potential identification of suspects and subsequent criminal prosecution.
- Identify financial control weaknesses and provide recommendations to adopt Firm best practices related to Financial Fraud.
- Conduct interviews of clients and Branch personnel to gather information on Financial Fraud matters.
- Provide court testimony on Financial Fraud investigations conducted and as an expert witness for Morgan Stanley.
- Conduct high level briefings and reports for Senior Management on Financial Fraud investigations conducted.
- Coordinate all law enforcement referrals with the appropriate Federal, State and local authorities.
Qualifications:
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in Criminal Justice, Police Science Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related fields.
- Minimum 8 years Law Enforcement investigative experience conducting complex investigations to include Financial Fraud.
- Certification in a relevant discipline (i.e., Certified Fraud Examiner-CFE, Certified Financial Crimes Investigator-CFCI, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist-CAMS) or willingness to obtain certifications, preferred.
- Solid technology and internet searching skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
