Position Title: Financial Analyst
Job Description
This position will support the Director of Inventory Governance in the day to day operations, related financial duties and monthly close process. Guide balance sheet analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; provide trends; explain processes and techniques and recommend actions. Consolidate and analyze financial data. Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve performance of tasks. This role will have exposure to senior leaders, so strong communication skills and confidence is critical. This role has tight timelines so need to be highly organized.
Duties may include the following:
- Customer due to/due from analysis - Quarterly review of the balances in due to/due from accounts by plant. Set up calls with plants that meet the criteria to review the by customer balances by age and reason to determine if the balances are accurate and fully supported. Prepare an executive summary that is presented to management quarterly.
- Inventory offset analysis - Monthly review the transactions in the inventory offset account and gather all the backup/support for the transactions. Ensure the transactions are correct per the policy. Review and compare the balances by customer to the GL detail reports to ensure they are correct. Provide support for any samples selected by external audit.
- EO sales (customer lookback) - Monthly review the files submitted by the plants to ensure they are accurate and complete. Review the backup supplied to ensure it ties out. Consolidate the responses quarterly to be provided to external auditors. Once external auditor selects samples, prepare the samples and provide. Review with auditor/Plant where necessary.
- Goods in-transit - Quarterly prepare the goods in-transit JV and charts for the management meeting. Work with Corp GL to ensure the entries are in and posted. Communicate the results of the entries to each plant/division/segment head. Annually prepare the percentage recalculation and work with auditors to audit the recalculated percentage.
- Lead/support specific project efforts geared towards process improvements, key control requirements, and data analysis. These projects are cross functional between Finance, Accounting, Operations, & IT.
- Work directly with both Internal and External Audit to develop/refine key controls and testing of controls.
- Work with IT/Cost accounting on any cost testing required during the year for Oracle patch/fix/issues. Develop and maintain the test plans, coordinate with IT and plant people to assist in the plan steps, review and provide all backup for the testing.
- Backup for other financial inventory functions for quarter and annual reporting.
- Some cycle count and PI observations may be required.
- Work directly with plants to implement various policy changes, fix issues, or training as needed.
- Good communication skills and someone capable of working on their own. Someone that pays a great deal of attention to detail.
- Some late evening calls with plants for training or quarterly monitoring control activity, may require some weekends as needed to meet quarterly, interim, and annual reporting and audit deadlines.
- Essential application proficiency in: Excel, Monarch, Oracle, & Oracle Reporting.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an Accredited University is required.
- 2 - 5 years experience required
