Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Financial Analyst, reporting to the Director of Endowments and Operations, will perform a broad array of accounting and financial functions including preparation of journal entries to record fees and earnings, calculation and distribution of spendable income, reconciliation of endowment transactions to account balances, and assist in performing research, analysis and projections related to the Foundation’s endowment. The Financial Analyst will serve as the point of contact with University Relations staff, regarding requests for specialized donor reporting. The position will work daily with endowment management software, accounting software, and Excel spreadsheets to ensure that financial transactions are recorded properly in the foundation’s financial and reporting systems. The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Director with providing high-level analytical support and development of financial models and scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field required.
Experience:
At least 3 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to be a team player and self-starter who can work independently.
- Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Experience with accounting and finance software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups.
- Strong customer service abilities
Preferences:

- Master’s degree in finance, accounting or business.
- Prior experience with Financial Edge NXT
- Experience in a non-profit, college, or university environment desired.

Salary commensurate with education and experience with a base salary starting in the mid $60,000s.
