Financial Analyst

A.POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Controller, this position analyzes current and historical and financial data in order to understand trends that support overall financial growth, and stability. Create financial models based on analysis that support organizational decision making. The Financial Analyst's work supports organizational performance improvement, effective resource management, clinical compliance, retrospective overviews, and financial forecasting.
B.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluates historical and current financial data to recommend the company's financial direction to the Accounting Manager, Controller and CFO.
• Studies industry-specific business trends and researches best-practice performance indicators and benchmarks.
• Writes ad-hoc reports to support the management team in making strategic business decisions.
• Develops financial models that forecast business outcomes.
• Provides cost/benefit analyses to support business decisions.
• Prepares and interprets ratios and key performance indicators.
• Identifies operational trends of financial activities for issue resolution and provides recommended courses of action to reverse unfavorable trends.
• Develops budget template and methodology; and, initiates, organizes, and prepares final budgets and reforecasts including entering and maintaining in ERP system.
• Performs budget to actual analyses and presents to budget owners.
• Participates in committee meetings and meets with other entities as assigned; works directly with others to help define, clarify and articulate information needs.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

C.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration;
• Three years of directly related experience;
• Proven expertise in principles, design and procedural methods used in data and statistical analysis;
• Knowledge of corporate finance, information analysis and financial ratios;
• One year of experience providing clinical and business system analysis support in an integrated healthcare system preferred; and,
• Other related experience and/or credentials may be deemed acceptable at the discretion of the hiring officer.

• Excellent to expert skills with Excel and Powerpoint;
• Ability to effectively use analytical principles and practices as appropriate to a healthcare environment and demonstrate understanding of general concepts of business / healthcare environment;
• Effective management of relational data sets;
• Ability to behave professionally and function effectively under stress and with a high workload and reporting deadlines;
• Skills to effectively compile and present complex analyses in formats and language which end users can easily understand;

• Maintain confidentiality of records, memoranda, verbal communications and analytical data and information;
• Create and maintain a working environment and working relationships that are conducive to effective group effort and organizational effectiveness;
• Knowledge and familiarity with compliance programs. Cooperate fully and comply with laws and regulations;
• An ideal incumbent will also demonstrate, or will acquire and maintain the following:
• Knowledge of clinical office workflows including front desk registration, back office patient workflows/procedures, ambulatory billing and coding (CPT & ICD);
• Knowledge of paper and electronic patient record protocols/software and practice management software;

G. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS/WORKING CONDITIONS
The successful incumbent must be able to prioritize and respond to the diverse demands of the position. There are frequent opportunities to relax from any physical exertion, change position in work activities, or take breaks from computer application tasks.
1. Physical Effort and Dexterity: Good dexterity to operate personal computer and office equipment. Occasional lifting and carrying related to office duties. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
2. Machines, Tools, Equipment required to be operated: Capable of using office machines and personal computers for various computer assisted applications.
3. Visual Acuity, Hearing, and Speaking: Must be able to read computer monitor and outputs accurately. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately for work and safety compliance.
4. Environment/Working Conditions: Work is mostly inside an office in a controlled environment. Normal office safety precautions and practices are required. Position requires travel throughout the Albuquerque metropolitan area. Work is regularly scheduled Monday-Friday, although weekends and evenings may be required to meet deadlines and/or responsibilities.
