Administers day-to-day functions across all aspects of the SJRMC's financial enterprise software system, including but not limited to a broad range of exposure in maintaining, analyzing, and expanding data reporting; supports and recommends project management of Finance and Payroll projects; maintains overall finance and accounting system functionality. Responsible for processes and systems that support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, budget tracking and analysis, assets, general ledger, and related reporting. Responsible for troubleshooting, workflow, business process configuration, report creation, data analysis, implementing new features, and providing creative forward-thinking solutions. Supports system audits and maintenance, ensures data integrity, and analyses processes and procedures while actively seeking opportunities to improve the performance of the payroll and finance systems.

Required Qualifications:
  • College degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or any management-related degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in financial planning and modeling, analysis, general ledger accounting, etc.
  • Workday experience or certification preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
  • Demonstrated ability to document and communicate, both verbal and written, to various levels in the organization, including senior management
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Advance knowledge and understanding of the Workday finance and Payroll modules
  • Advance knowledge and understanding of Workday business processes
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, advanced level of Excel
  • A basic knowledge of the design techniques to prepare internal and external visual documents
  • Strong attention to detail, effective multi-tasking, and swift strategic thinking skills
  • Good organizational and recordkeeping abilities
  • Ability to effectively mentor and evaluate team members
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards
  • Thorough understanding of systems analysis methods and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in computer and database development

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or post-graduate degree in business-related field
  • Certification in Workday Finance, Payroll, or any other modules

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administers production support, including researching and resolving Payroll and Financial system problems, maintaining databases, checking data, assisting customers, and resolving unexpected results and/or process flaws. Independently generates, writes, maintains, and supports a variety of dashboards, reports, or queries using various software
  • Utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues; recommends and/or escalates problems; proactively identifies risks while working collaboratively with technical and functional teams to manage and reduce risk
  • Serves as business lead and subject matter expert in finance and Payroll business processes for implementing new or revised Financial enterprise software systems, processes, related systems, and procedures
  • Collaborates with colleagues to identify, recommend, and develop process improvements and system enhancements to meet changing needs
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Payroll and Financial systems by independently researching and assessing technology needs, identifying systems/process improvements, and delivering technological solutions that support operational excellence
  • Assisted with the development of project plans related to enterprise financial systems and technology, managed project timelines and deliverables for the implementation of projects
  • Maintains in-depth working knowledge of business policies and/or statutory requirements; identifies and assists with training on payroll and finance products
  • Works on special projects as assigned. Assists other budget staff as needed and/or necessary.
  • Maintain the necessary skills and knowledge to process an entire Payroll calculation and settlement when necessary. Review, reconcile, and oversee the Payroll reporting function.
  • Review and reconcile payroll-related general ledger. Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for the performance of the job. Trains and mentors' financial analysts, accountants, technicians, and other staff on best financial practices and utilized financial systems
  • Maintains confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the organization
  • Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds at times
